Welcome to Citizens Report; we have developed this site to demonstrate how citizens can create their own community intelligence and instantly alert others about crime and other harmful issues in their neighbourhoods. Feel free to view crimes reported and featured on this site but you can also make an instant and anonymous crime mapped report on the location, type and suspected motivation, for crime and other community safety issues. Citizens Report does not pass these reports on to the police or other criminal justice services.
Most crimes occur outside of our homes yet the majority of street crime, even serious street crimes such as: robbery, sexual assaults, hate crime, violence and knife crime, remain unreported (residential based crimes are mostly excluded to protect privacy).
If you have suffered or witnessed street crime, use our online crime reporting service to immediately inform other citizens about the potentials harms in their area.
Map of recent reports. Select for different crime types, motivation and weapon use.
Citizens Report provides an open portal for individuals and communities to independently and anonymously report the location of street crimes and other street incidents within their neighbourhoods; providing not just the opportunity to describe the incident but the suspected motives related to the incident.
Citizens Report is not a "crime fighting" service and does not seek to compete with the police and enforcement based approaches to justice; reporting an offence to the police remains a required first step towards a state based criminal justice resolution.
